Treatments for those experiencing rosacea or skin changes related to menopause

AeroLase

This is a non-invasive laser treatment with minimal to no downtime. Sessions take approximately 30 minutes, and patients can typically return to work the same day.

We frequently use AeroLase for rosacea patients to help reduce redness and vascularity—two key features of the condition. This device also plays a supportive role in improving menopausal skin by enhancing the skin barrier function. As you’ve highlighted in one of the social media content, the link between rosacea and menopause is supported by clinical data, particularly regarding inflammation and impaired barrier function. We’ve seen excellent outcomes and high patient satisfaction, with many reporting a significant reduction in flushing episodes and overall redness.

Chemical Peels – Mandelic Acid

We offer a medically licensed Mandelic Acid Peel for subtype 1 vascular rosacea (characterised by flushing and visible capillaries). This acts as a vasoconstrictor to tighten dilated capillaries and improve overall appearance.

We often combine this with AeroLase treatments to maximise results by reducing the depth, frequency, and duration of flushes while preserving blood vessel integrity. It can also be used as a standalone treatment. A course of treatments is always recommended for best results.

Dermalux Tri-Wave MD

This is a medically certified LED phototherapy device that delivers clinically proven Blue, Red, and Near-Infrared wavelengths to support skin health and barrier function.

We use Dermalux to help reduce inflammation, promote collagen production, and target acne-causing bacteria. It’s particularly beneficial for rosacea-prone skin, and as with other modalities, a treatment course is recommended for optimal results.

Skincare products to support rosacea and menopausal skin

  • Jan Marini Rosalieve – In place of Obagi Rosaclear (which we do not stock), we recommend Rosalieve to help manage redness and inflammation as part of a tailored skincare protocol.
  • Obagi Rebalance Skin Barrier Recovery Cream – A lightweight moisturiser containing postbiotics, hydrating agents, and soothing ingredients to calm irritation and restore hydration.
  • Obagi Vitamin C Serum or Jan Marini C-Esta Serum – Depending on the patient’s skin barrier function, we advise on the most suitable option. Vitamin C provides anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits, helping to prevent flare-ups and protect against free radical and sun damage.
