Skin Rejuvenation Techniques

Everyday our skin is exposed to sunlight and other environmental stressors, which create sun spots, fine surface blood vessels (thread veins) and wrinkles, and can leave skin with a course, worn texture.

Even the best cared for skin can betray your age, losing tone and texture with age. With a poor skin care routine, the skin’s own regeneration processes can lead to a build up of dead cells on the skin surface that dull our complexion.

At the Devonshire Clinic in Harley Street, London, our team of cosmetic dermatologists can provide a range of skin rejuvenation treatments to help reverse the effects of ageing and worn skin.

Skin rejuvenation techniques

Our skin rejuvenation treatments use a wide range of techniques to refresh and revitalise the skin, reversing many of these effects to leave you looking fresher, younger and healthier, with a smooth, flawless, glowing complexion.

Below is a summary of the skin rejuvenation treatments we use at The Devonshire Clinic. Click on the links in each section to find out more.

IPL photorejuvenation

Intense pulsed light photorejuvenation uses short bursts of high energy light, at very specific wavelengths.

Medical applications of IPL include treatment of:

  • Thread veins
  • Rosacea
  • Facial redness
  • Pigmentation

Wrinkle injection treatments

Wrinkle injections can help rejuvenate the look of skin by reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles in the forehead and around the eyes and mouth.

Dermal fillers

Dermal fillers are given by injection within the skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines and to add youthful volume. The components of fillers boost the body’s own cells to produce more collagen, the protein that gives the skin plumpness and definition.

Fillers are given by injection with a local anaesthetic and treatment sessions take less than an hour. Your skin appears normal afterwards, with only a little redness for a day or two, so you don’t need any time off work to have your treatments. The effects last for a minimum of several months, often longer.

Chemical skin peels

We use a variety of different chemical skin peels to target the top and middle layers of the skin to rejuvenate and refresh the visible surface layer. This reduces the appearance of wrinkle, lines and superficial scars and marks, giving the skin a more youthful look. The more intense peels that we offer can also treat deeper scars, such as those caused by acne.

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy

PRP therapy uses growth factors from your own plasma to rejuvenate the skin. It can soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and gives the skin a plumper, younger look. Because your own cells are used in the treatment, it is extremely safe.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is used to remove dead cells that build up on the skin surface as part of the natural regeneration cycle. It gently removes the outermost layer of cells leaving the skin looking fresher and healthier.

Microneedling

Microneedling is a facial skin rejuvenation technique in which many tiny sterile needles are used on a small area of skin.
