VI Peel Treatments

What Is a VI Peel?

A VI Peel (also known as a VI chemical peel) is a medium-strength chemical peel that uses a synergistic blend of acids and vitamins to rejuvenate the skin. Designed to address a wide range of concerns safely and effectively, it’s suitable even for those with sensitive or darker skin tones. The VI Peel formula includes TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid), Retin-A (Tretinoin), Salicylic Acid, Phenol, and Vitamin C – ingredients that work together to exfoliate, brighten, and smooth the skin.

Even if you have younger skin without visible signs of ageing, a VI chemical peel can help prevent future damage and maintain a radiant complexion.

Treating your skin concerns

A VI Peel treament is clinically formulated to treat multiple skin concerns, including:

  • Melasma, age spots and freckles.
  • Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH).
  • Sun related pigmentation changes.
  • Fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Loss of collagen and tone.

Contraindications:

Those with allergies to any of the ingredients above and women who are pregnant or nursing should not undergo a VI chemical Peel.

Key Things to Know Before Your VI Peel

  • This is not suitable if you have keloid scarring.
  • If you get cold sores, you will need to start treatment in the week before the peel.
  • In general, the best results are seen at about 28 days, but results can be seen at 7 days.
  • You will need to engage in a good skincare programme to help to maintain results and prevent recurrence of your skin issue.

VI Peel Aftercare and Recovery

After your VI chemical peel treatment, you’ll receive a take-home aftercare kit with gentle cleanser, retinoid towelettes, VI Derm Moisturizer, and hydrocortisone cream.
Follow your practitioner’s aftercare instructions carefully to promote healing and avoid side effects. Avoid harsh cleansers, direct sun exposure, heat, and picking peeling skin.

Typical recovery timeline:

  • Day 1–2: Mild redness and tightness

  • Day 3–5: Light peeling around the mouth, chin, or cheeks

  • Day 6–7: Peeling subsides, revealing smoother, refreshed skin

  • Week 2 onward: Skin continues regenerating with improved glow and clarity

Frequently Asked Questions VI Peels

Following the treatment, the skin is expected to peel for approximately 7 days. Once the peeling subsides, you will see noticeable improvements in the skin’s appearance within a week. The benefits of the VI Peel can continue to enhance the skin’s condition over time, and continued improvement may be seen even months after the initial treatment.

A VI chemical peel effectively treats acne scars, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, melasma, fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven texture. It can also help improve overall skin tone and clarity for a brighter, more even complexion.

Unlike traditional chemical peels, the VI Peel is formulated with a unique combination of active ingredients that deliver powerful results with minimal irritation or downtime. It’s designed to be safe, gentle, and effective for all skin types.

The skin is cleaned and then the peel applied. For the first few seconds you might feel some stinging. The peel is left on after the treatment, for at least 4 hours, and you will be given instructions for how to remove it at home.

Immediately after the peel has been applied to the skin, it may look yellow. Dark areas of skin may appear darker, as the pigment is lifted from the skin. On about day 3-4 the skin peeling with begin, and it will stop around days 6 -7. The level of peeling differs greatly, depending on the area, type of skin and condition of skin.  Some may experience significant peeling while others very little to none but will still receive all the benefits of the VI Peel.

Yes, the VI Peel is safe for all skin tones and types, including sensitive and darker complexions. It’s one of the few chemical peels formulated to minimise the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

The frequency of VI Peel treatments can vary depending on individual skin needs and goals. While having a VI Peel every three to four months is a standard recommendation, the optimal schedule may differ for each person.

For optimal results, we recommend a series of 3-4 VI Peels, although many patients see significant results with just one treatment.

The VI Peel treatment usually takes about 30 to 45 minutes, including preparation and application. It’s quick, comfortable, and often referred to as a “lunchtime peel” due to minimal downtime.

Results from a VI chemical peel can last several months with proper skincare and sun protection. Maintaining your results with a consistent skincare routine and follow-up treatments every few months is recommended.

It’s best to avoid makeup until peeling has finished and your skin has healed—typically around 5–7 days. Using makeup too soon can clog pores and slow the healing process.

No, VI Peel treatments are not recommended for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding due to the active ingredients used in the formulation.
