Professor Chris Griffiths is widely regarded as one of the most distinguished dermatologists globally, celebrated for his groundbreaking contributions to the fields of psoriasis and skin ageing. He graduated with first-class honours in medicine from St Thomas’s Hospital Medical School, London, and pursued advanced training in Dermatology at St Mary’s Hospital, London, where he was awarded a prestigious Wellcome Trust Fellowship. He later joined the Department of Dermatology at the University of Michigan as a faculty member before being appointed to the Foundation Chair of Dermatology at the University of Manchester. Over his 25-year tenure, he transformed Manchester into a world-leading centre for dermatological research and education.

Currently, Professor Griffiths serves as a Consultant Dermatologist at King’s College Hospital, London, and holds the position of Professor of Dermatology at King’s College London. Renowned for his diagnostic expertise and ability to address complex dermatological conditions, particularly inflammatory skin diseases, he is also the Editor-in-Chief of the seminal Rook’s Textbook of Dermatology, the most authoritative reference in the field.

Professor Griffiths has held numerous prestigious leadership roles, including serving as President of the British Association of Dermatologists and the European Society for Dermatological Research. His exceptional contributions to dermatology have been recognised with numerous accolades, including an OBE for his services to the field.
