Thread veins can be unsightly when they appear on our skin and in particular the face. They can occur as a result of chronic sun exposure or may be related to taking certain medicines such as steroids. Sometimes, thread veins may be a sign of a skin condition called Rosacea especially if they are associated with facial redness or flushing. Whatever the cause, thread veins can make us self -conscious and affect our confidence. At our clinic in London we can use lasers or Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to remove thread veins.
Thread veins can also occur on other parts of the body such as the legs. In this situation, your Dermatologist may suggest a treatment called Microsclerotherapy, where a sclerosant (chemical substance) is injected into the thread veins. Sometimes, a combination of both microsclerotherapy and laser is used to obtain optimal results.
